Astor (PR): According to a press release issued by PRO Astore Police, IGP Gilgit-Baltistan (G-B) Afzal Mahmood Butt held a Zoom Meeting in CPO regarding Muharram-ul-Haram.
DIG Diamar Astore Range Tufail Ahmed Mir, SSP Astor Muhammad Shirin and all members of Peace Committee Astor participated in the online meeting.
During the meeting, the members of the peace committee assured play their role in maintaining law and order at all costs by cooperating with the police.
IGP Gilgit-Baltistan thanked the Ulema of Astore district, the Peace Committee, the people of the Diamer Astor region, and the civil society for their cooperation. The Peace Committee always has been playing a positive role in the maintenance of peace and tranquility in the region, said IGP G-B.
He expressed his hope that ulema and civil society will continue to strive for peace and the supremacy of law.
During the meeting, a briefing was given regarding the measures taken for Muharram-ul-Haram by DIG Diamer Astore.
While giving his briefing, the DIG Diamir-Astore Range said the peace committee is the best platform for communication between the people and the police.
The participants assured to play their positive role in maintaining peace and order during the Holy month of Muharram-ul-Haram at any cost and expressed their cooperation to help implement the set protocols.
