Gilgit (Court Press Release): Chief Justice Supreme Appellate Court of Gilgit-Baltistan expressed strong anger on Secretary Law, Secretary Forests and Wildlife, Chief Conservator Forest, and Conservator Forest Diamer/Astore circle.
Chief Justice ordered the secretary Law Department G-B, Secretary Forest and Wildlife, Chief Conservator Forest G-B, Conservator Forest Diamir/Astore Circle, and Divisional Forest Officer Darel/Tangir to appear before the court in person at the next hearing.
The Honourable Chief Justice was hearing a case filed by the provincial government on Saturday.
The Chief Justice of the Supreme Appellate Court Gilgit-Baltistan inquired about the government’s rationale for submitting an unnecessary application especially when a transport permit for timber transportation from Diamer had already been granted to the respondent.
Aren’t such unnecessary processes a burden on the public exchequer, questioned Chief Justice.
