Gilgit (Staff reporter): According to a statement issued by the Interior Department Gilgit-Baltistan (G-B) on Saturday, security measures for passenger safety, on the Karakoram Highway, have been enhanced by deploying regular and community police personnel.
The government has decided to deploy the police and Karakoram Security Force with public transport to ensure safe travel and safety of passengers on the Karakoram Highway (KKH), said the statement.
As per the statement, consideration of a ban on public transport is baseless and untrue. It’s rather a rumor being circulated.
The statement further said G-B Scouts will perform patrolling duties on the Karakoram Highway.
