Transporters in Gilgit-Baltistan increase transport fairs with hike in petroleum products

Gilgit (Correspondent): With implementation of new price hike in petroleum products, the transporters in Gilgit-Baltistan also have increased both passenger and goods transport fares within Gilgit-Baltistan and to other cities of the country.

With increase in the prices of petroleum products, food items and other life essentials have started to be sold on prices suited to the shopkeepers.

All essential items in Gilgit-Baltistan are imported from other cities of the country, so the essential items of Gilgit-Baltistan are available at twice the price compared to other cities.

In Gilgit-Baltistan, at present, meat is priced at Rs 730 per kg, while onions imported from Afghanistan are available at Rs 250 per kg.

According to the people, inflation had already stripped the skin of the working people, now it has dried the bones to the pulp.
