Skardu (PR): Career Fest 2023 organized by Gilgit-Baltistan government in Skardu successfully concluded on Sunday. During the three days event, range of programs aimed at aimed at highlighting the creativity of students were organized.
Experts from diverse fields across the country shared their professional life experiences with students, offering valuable guidance to help them align their career choices with their interests and current industry trends.
The final day of Career Fest 2023 was dedicated exclusively to female students, and it saw a record turnout of young women from schools and colleges across G-B. Reputed universities, corporate entities, and other professional institutions from all over the country established informational stalls, providing students with essential knowledge and awareness about different career choices.
Over 12,000 students participated in the three-day festival. Over 60 professional experts from different fields shared their expertise and insights, helping students making right decisions about their future. Moreover, over 45 educational and other institutions setup awareness stalls, offering students valuable information.
Education Minister G-B Ghulam Shahzad Agha was the chief guest of the closing ceremony. Addressing the ceremony, he lauded the hosting of the career festival in Baltistan as a breath of fresh air. He said the event of Career Fest 2023 in Baltistan has sent a positive message of peace to the whole world.
The ceremony was also addressed by prominent literary and professional figures including famous neuro-linguist Muneer Ahmad, the Human Resource Head of the National Telecommunication Corporation Muhammad Saqlain, Heads of Climate Change Department of National Disaster Risk Management Muhammad Fawad Hayat and the Head of Mountain Shop Aziza Saleh and others. The speakers lauded the creativity demonstrated by the students and underscored the importance of aligning future decisions with one’s individual capabilities.
Addressing the ceremony, Chief Secretary G-B Mohyuddin Ahmed Wani said the G-B government’s is committed to provide modern, high-quality education to students at their doorsteps.
He highlighted the positive impact of recent initiatives taken in education sector, noting that government school enrolment has surged by 18% compared to the previous year. Furthermore, students from private schools are actively seeking admission in larger government schools, further added the Chief Secretary G-B.
