Gilgit (PR) – A significant consultative meeting was convened by the Soni Jawari Center for Public Policy to deliberate the subject of technical assistance in policy-making for government departments in Gilgit-Baltistan, with support from the European Union.
The meeting attended by key stakeholders, including the Director General of Gilgit-Baltistan Disaster Management Kamal-ud-Din Qamar, as well as representatives from the Agriculture Department, Irrigation Department, Forest Department, and the Department of Water and Power.
During the session, Izhar Hunzai, Head of Sony Jawari Center for Public Policy, gave a detailed briefing of the proposed program aimed at furnishing technical support in policy formulation.
During the discussion, all participants concurred on their intent to collaboratively finalize a draft of the proposed program, encompassing technical support provisions in policy-making, within the span of a week.
The outcome of this consultative initiative promises to fortify the government’s capacity for informed decision-making and effective policy implementation in Gilgit-Baltistan, ensuring sustainable development and improved governance for the region.
