Model village for flood victims of Buber Valley to be completed this year

Gilgit (PR): In a statement issued by the information department Gilgit-Baltistan (G-B), the chief secretary of G-B has said Barodas Model Village is a modern model village being established for the flood victims of Buber Valley of Punial in district Ghizer.

According to the Chief Secretary, this is a flagship project of a unique kind. The project includes state-of-the-art prefab housing units. Work on the site is progressing at a fast pace, the project will be completed by August this year.

According to the statement, 7 housing units have been constructed so far 17 housing units have been constructed whereas the foundation of rest has been laid. Water tanks and pipelines have also been completed. Sewerage system is also in progress, in which septic tanks have been completed. Similarly, the work on the road for transportation is almost in the final stages of completion.

DFO Ghizer and the Conservator visited the village to ensure the project is eco-friendly. In this regard, a vigorous tree planting campaign will be started by Monday, said the statement.

The chief secretary has expressed his hope the flagship project and its state-of-the-art infrastructure will help in the complete rehabilitation of the flood victims of Buber Valley of Punial.
