Gilgit (R): Additional Chief Secretary Development Gilgit-Baltistan Captain (R) Mushtaq Ahmed visited Assembling and Testing Centre of Early Warning System on Thursday as part of GLOF-II Project at the headquarters Gilgit-Baltistan Disaster Management Authority.
He reviewed the work related to the installation of early warning systems in areas prone to natural disasters as part of the Glof-II Project.
He reviewed various stages of assembling and testing of early warning systems and held discussions with the relevant engineers.
On this occasion, Abdul Basit, Provincial Coordinator of UNDP, gave a detailed briefing about the projects under GLOF-II Project, especially Early Warning Systems, while Deputy Director GBDMA Zahiruddin Babar gave a detailed briefing about Gilgit-Baltistan Disaster Management Authority.
Appreciating the initiatives taken under GLOF-II project, he said the installation the early warning system to deal with any possible calamity in a timely manner is an excellent and effective communication.
He assured of all possible cooperation to the GLOF-II Project team in implementing similar projects aimed at public welfare.
