First Software Technology Park in Gilgit-Baltistan inaugurated

Gilgit (C.R. Akbar Shah): Chief Minister Gilgit-Baltistan Khalid Khursheed inaugurated Gilgit-Baltistan’s first software technology park at Chilmisdas on Thursday.

Chief Minister Khalid Khursheed visited different departments of the software park. He was briefed about different programs planned to be started at the park.

While addressing the inaugural ceremony, CM G-B Khalid Khursheed said his government is working to bring about a digital revolution in GB and the establishment of the software technology park is a step in this direction.

He said the G-B government is setting up a special Technology Zone in the region for which land has been bought. Moreover, the government will buy services of renowned tech companies to ensure maximum utilization of the part to prepare young people for a digital future.

He further said that G-B will give loans up o Rs. 3 million to families who are interested in the promotion of family tourism by making use of their homes.

He also said with the cooperation of the Karakoram bank, his government has planned to give Rs. 1.5 million funds on 4-5% interest rate to students enrolled in top educational institutions of the country. These are the initiatives taken by the G-B government to create job opportunities apart from a government job.

He further said his government has allocated Rs. 10 billion for each district for the development of the IT sector that will be managed by the IT authority to be set up very soon.

Senior minister Ubaidullah Baigh, Minister planning and information Fatullah Khan, Chief secretary G-B, Parliamentary Secretary on Education Suraya Zaman and Secretary Forests Safdar Ali, and others were present at the occasion.
