Gilgit (Reporter): District and Sessions Judge Ms. Amna Zamir Shah visited the Central Jail along with the Judicial Magistrate Mr. Ayatullah Khan and inspected the registers under the rules.
The visiting judge was given a briefing by inspector general (IG) prisons about the daily regulation of the jail.
On her visit of the jail, police presented guard of honor and saluted the district and session judge. Later, the honorable judge along with the IG Prisons and other jail officials made a regular inspection of the jail and took the usual briefing from the jail authorities.
On this occasion, she discussed reforms regarding the prisoners and prison reforms with the jail officials. The women police stationed in the prison also discussed various issues with the first honorable female session judge of Gilgit-Baltistan.
IG Jails answered the questions asked about the prisoners and briefed the honorable judge about the situation.
The Sessions Judge also inspected the Darul Aman and other prisons established on a temporary basis for women in Gilgit-Baltistan. A discussion was also held regarding working on reforms related to women and juvenile prisoners.
