Gilgit (PR): In the light of the directives of Chief Secretary Gilgit-Baltistan (G-B) Mohyuddin Ahmad Wani, the divisional and district administration conducted extensive raids against hoarding and profiteering across Gilgit-Baltistan on Thursday.
The authorities sealed several shops and collected fines totaling Rs. 58,900 from violators in a total of 344 separate raids.
It is pertinent to note that the campaign against profiteering and hoarding has started in the middle of the current month, yielding encouraging results. In every district, a Chief Secretary Grievance Cell has been established, which operates 24/7 acting on immediate basis on citizens’ complaints.
According to the Chief Secretary G-B, the aim of this campaign is to get rid of the hoarders and profiteers, ensuring the supply of food items to the people at affordable prices.
Furthermore, Chief Secretary Gilgit-Baltistan Mohyuddin Ahmed Wani has issued instructions to all divisional and district commissioners to take strict legal measures against the profiteers and hoarders to stabilize the prices.
