Gilgit (PR): Chief Minister Gilgit-Baltistan (G-B) Haji Gulbar Khan has directed all the relevant government departments to take immediate steps to bring down the prices of essential goods and transport fares in the face of the substantial reduction in petroleum prices.
The Chief Minister G-B has directed the Departments of Interior, Excise and Taxation, Local Government, Commerce, and Information to collaborate and implement measures to make the price and control mechanism functional.
The Chief Minister G-B has formed a committee under the supervision of Senior Minister for Local Government and Rural Development Abdul Hameed to implement reduction in the prices of petroleum products.
Members of the committee include Provincial Interior Minister Shams-Ul-Haq Lone, Minister Excise and Taxation Haji Rehmat Khaliq, Special Assistant to CM on Information Iman Shah, Special Assistant to CM on Youth Affairs and Commerce Zabiullah and the Secretaries of the concerned departments.
The committee will review the measures aimed at bringing a reduction in prices, manage inflation, and work on price stability by mobilizing price control committees and district administration. The committee will submit a detailed report to the Chief Minister GB within two weeks concerning the relief measures.
