Rupani Foundation and GBRSP Expand Tech Fellow Project to More Schools in GB

Gilgit (PR): Gilgit: The Rupani Foundation and the Gilgit-Baltistan Rural Support Program (GBRSP) have signed an agreement to extend the Tech Fellow project for one year, expanding its reach to additional two hundred public sector schools in the region.

Funded by the Government of Gilgit-Baltistan, this project stands as the first of its kind, dedicated to inculcating future-oriented skills through school education and nurturing students into inventors, entrepreneurs, and enthusiasts of modern technology.

The agreement was signed by Bahadur Ali Khan, Senior Advisor Education, Rupani Foundation and  Ashfaq Ahmed, General Manager, GBRSP. Education Minister G-B Shahzad Agha and Chief Secretary G-B Mohyuddin Ahmed Wani and other officials were also present on the occasion.

Chief Secretary G-B Mohyuddin Ahmed Wani appreciated the creativity of students in Gilgit-Baltistan. He said that earlier it was unimaginable for government school students to achieve such excellence. “However, this achievement has now become a reality”, added the Chief Secretary G-B.

It is pertinent to note that the Tech Fellows project has gained significant attention and appreciation across Pakistan for its positive impact on the educational landscape in Gilgit-Baltistan. The program introduces computer programming, STEM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and math) and entrepreneurship education to students in grades six through eight.

Over 2,200 students from 200 schools have benefited from this project. Together, these young talents have collaboratively produced over 4,300 projects in areas such as computer programming, STEM, and entrepreneurship.
