Gilgit (Correspondent): A tourist van fell into the Indus River at the Haramosh area on the Gilgit-Skardu road on Monday the morning.

According to police and rescue sources, the vehicle plunged into fast flowing deep river while it was taking a dangerous turn.

The deceased included Abdul Ghaffar, Muhammad Azad, Haq Nawaz, Muhammad Taimoor, Sanaullah, and Muhammad Talha.

The deceased tourists hailed from Rajinpur Punjab and were coming to Gilgit from Skardu.

Rescue team reached the spot soon after receiving the message about the accident where they found two torch, a touch mobile, a gas cylinder and a pair of slippers.

The dead body of one of the deceased Muhammad Taimoor was found some kilometers away from the accident site on the bank of the river which was transferred to Gilgit city.

It is pertinent to note that a day before 4 people of the same family died due to landslide on Skardu road.
