Gilgit (press statement): In a statement issued to the media, the veteran political activist and leader said that the road accident in Shatial Kohistan was a gross human tragedy.
Expressing his condolence with the aggrieved families, he has stated the incident is not a natural disaster, the government and transport mafia should be held accountable.
He has asked the political and social organizations to strongly protest against the criminal negligence of the transport company and the complete failure of the government in protecting the lives and property of the passengers so that such unfortunate accidents can be prevented from happening in the future.
In his statement, Ahsan advocate has said that the people of G-B should protest against transport owners for playing with the lives of people for profit, the ill maintenance of vehicles on long routes, hiring of inexperienced drivers on low wages, and lack of check and balance on public transport vehicles by the excise department.
There is a need to protest for not providing passenger insurance and lack of maintenance of KKH on daily basis by the government, absence of safety measures along the road that cause road accidents, stated Ahsan advocate.
