Gilgit (Bureau report): While addressing a high-level meeting at police headquarters in Gilgit, the newly appointed IG Police G-B Afzal Mahmood Butt said a comprehensive plan will be set up for the security of tourists by activating police across the mountainous region.
He said the health screening of the police force will be conducted by ensuring timely vaccination and treatment. In this regard, a police protection center will be established. Similarly, with the help of PITB, police Public Service and Amanat App will be introduced.
The newly appointed IG G-B advised the police jawans to focus on better public service, crime prevention, and identifying criminals. Steps would be taken to further improve the investigation process in dealing with different cases, further added Afzal Mahmood.
IG G-B directed the DIGs of all the ranges to prepare a joint plan to bring all wanted criminals to the book.
He emphasized enhancement of the professional capacity of the police force and vowed to give full attention towards availing training opportunities at national level institutions.
He further said the welfare of the police force is among his priorities. The martyrs and veterans of the force are our heroes who laid down their lives in the line of duty. Special attention will be given to the education and welfare of the children of the martyrs.
He also vowed to promote mutual cooperation with other institutions for the implementation of official duties.
