Gilgit: Secretary Home G-B Sibtain Ahmed along with Inspector General G-B Police Afzal Mahmood Butt visited the main route of the 10th Muharram procession in Gilgit city.
They reviewed different procession routes and security arrangements of concerning the main procession of Ashura Day in Gilgit city.
While visiting the procession route, secretary home met the top Shia cleric and Imam Jamia Imamiya Masjid Agha Rahat Hussain and president of Anjuman Imamiya Gilgit Sajid Ali Baig.
They discussed security issues and arrangements made concerning Muharram ul Haram in Gilgit City and surrounding areas.
On this occasion, the Secretary Home Gilgit-Baltistan Sibtain Ahmed said the main processions of Ashura Day are going on peacefully on their traditional routes in the entire province including Gilgit city. Fool-proof arrangements in place to make ensure smooth excecution conduction of Muharram processions and other religious gatherings.
The district administration is making use of all available resources to provide security and extend any sort of help to the mourners, further added the Secretary Home G-B.
