Gilgit (PR): According to a statement released by the Public Relations Office of the Election Commission of Gilgit-Baltistan on Friday, all arrangements have been finalized for the by-election scheduled on September 9, 2023, for GBLA-13, Astore-1 constituency.
This constituency had become vacant following the Gilgit-Baltistan Chief Court’s June ruling, which disqualified the former Chief Minister of Gilgit-Baltistan in a fake degree case.
According to the statement, a regular control room has been set up at the Election Commission of Gilgit-Baltistan regarding the scheduled by-election.
Specific telephone numbers have also been issued to maintain communication with the District Returning Officer, Returning Officer, Presiding Officer, and other staff who will be on duty on the election day, said the statement.
