Gilgit (Staff reporter): While talking to media persons in Gilgit, the member Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly Haji Rehmat Khaliq has said that Chief Minister Khalid Khurshid’s announcement of Rs. 1 billion for the High Court Bar Association G-B as gunfire in the air.
He said that the chief minister is appearing in the fake degree case on May 5 in the court. He wants to get relief from the bar and the bench by announcing Rs. 1 billion for the bar ahead of his appearance in the court.
Haji Rehmat Khaliq said that the Chief Minister announcement for the lawyers’ community are nothing but an offer as a political bribe. The reality is that there is no budget to run the government, added the chief minister.
He said the chief minister neither can give one crore rupees to the lawyers’ community nor he will be able to implement PC-1 of any pf these announced projects. He just wants to get relief from the court in case against him in the court. The lawyers’ community should not fall into the Chief Minister’s trap with their eyes open, said Khalid Khurshid.
He further said that the lawyers’ community should not accept chief minister’s political bribe as they are supposed to suppor truth and justice. There is no such thing as government in Gilgit-Baltistan. Until yesterday, the Chief Minister was guarding Bani Gala and Zaman Park and today he is trying to fool the people and the lawyer’s community.
He said that in Gilgit-Baltistan, the atmosphere has deteriorated everywhere, problems are piling up. Nevertheless, the chief Minister is constantly playing Nero’s flute. The false announcements of chief minister will leave the people in the lurch of problems which is adding more salt to the public’s wounds, further added Rehmat Khaliq.
