Gilgit(PR) : In a historic announcement on Friday, the Karakoram Cooperative Bank Limited (KCBL) announced a number of groundbreaking initiatives aimed at promoting gender equality and community development in Gilgit-Baltistan.
In this regard, the board meeting of KCBL took place on Friday under the chairmanship of the Chief Secretary of Gilgit-Baltistan, Mahyuddin Ahmad Wani.
The board meeting announced several strategic decisions aimed at empowering women, improving customer experiences, and promoting sustainable energy solutions.

Gender Equality Commitment
KCBL will ensure a 50% quota for the women working in public sector as part of its initiatives to promote gender equality. KCBL expects the initiative will not only empower women but also diversify the workforce, ensuring equal opportunities for all.
Family-Friendly Initiatives
To support the work-life balance of female employees, KCBL has decided to create dedicated children corner in all of its branches. This step aims to provide a safe and nurturing environment for the children of working mothers, thereby promoting a culture of work-life balance within families.
Improved Accessibility
As part of their commitment to inclusivity, KCBL plans to provide toilet facilities to women in all its branches. This endeavor seeks to facilitate the female customers and employees, ensuring their comfort and convenience.
Sustainable Energy Solutions
KCBL is commitment to environmental sustainability as it is offering loans for solar energy solutions. These loans will be available to hospitals, businesses, and households that adopt clean and renewable energy. This initiative is in line with KCBL’s mission of supporting the local community and protecting the environment.
