Gilgit (Correspondent): Secretary Home Gilgit-Baltistan Rana Muhammad Saleem Afzal and Inspector General Police G-B Dar Ali Khattak visited the Chinese Camp Lark Tangir on Tuesday.
Commissioner Diamer Astor Division Iltamish Janjua, Deputy Commissioner Diamer Fayaz Ahmad Khan, DIG Diamer Astor Tufail Ahmed Mir, SSP Diamer Muhammad Ayaz, CO WAPDA Amir Bashir Chaudhry, Assistant Commissioner to Commissioner Diamer Astor Captain retired Adil G. Officers of G-B Scouts and heads of other departments were also present on the occasion.
Colonel Maaz of G-B scouts gave a detailed briefing to the higher officers about the recent incident in the Chinese camp.
After the briefing, the Interior Secretary and other officers attended a Jirga of the Elders of Tangier, which was held at the Civil Dispensary Tangir, for the establishment of law and order in Tangier.
On this occasion, Maulana Mehboobullah presented a letter of thanks on behalf of Umaidin Tangir.
At the end of the Jirga, the deputy commissioner Diamar Fayyaz Ahmed shared details about the recent incident. He said the public about the written agreement of Diamar with the district administration and WAPDA department.
Expressing on this occasion, the elders of Tangir valley said the work of the hydropower project was stopped a month ago. However, with the efforts of the people of Tangir valley, the work on the project has restarted.
They said a few miscreants tried to disrupt the development plan, which the people of Tangier strongly condemn. The people of Tangir valley will continue to cooperate fully with the government to suppress the elements that obstruct the way of construction and development.
