Gilgit (PR) Vice Chancellor of Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) Dr. Arshad Ahmed along with a delegation met chief secretary Gilgit-Baltistan Mohyuddin Ahmed Wani.
The Vice Chancellor of LUMS gave a detailed briefing on various educational programs offered by the university.
A memorandum of understanding was signed between the Government of Gilgit-Baltistan and LUMS for a long-term partnership in the IT, entrepreneurship, tourism, energy, and water sectors.
Chief Secretary G-B requested the VC LUMS to send students to G-B during the summer vacations to provide effective guidance in the schools and colleges of Gilgit-Baltistan in the IT boot camp.
The Vice Chancellor LUMS assured the chief secretary G-B that at least 50 talented students will be sent to G-B in July this year. These students will teach modern skills in various educational institutions in G-B.
During the meeting, it was also agreed that LUMS will provide special guidance in 10 different courses for the students of Gilgit-Baltistan. G-B government will provide accommodation and related facilities to the visiting student and faculty of LUMS.
Students and faculty provided by LUMS will give their services in various programs, i.e. sciences, water resources management, e-commerce, personal effectiveness, tourism economics and industry, law, tourism and environment, hotel management, green energy and courses designed to meet local energy needs.
