Former Chief Minister Hafiz Hafeezur Rahman speaking to media at Jaglot Guru after visiting affected area in last year flood

Gilgit (Bureau Chief): Former chief minister of Gilgit-Baltistan Hafiz Hafeezur Rehman has said that the federal government will be invited to intervene if the G-B government does not stop creating a mess by usurping public funds.

He was speaking to the media at Jaglot Guru after visiting the area affected by floods last year.

The former chief minister said his party wants provincial autonomy and never wants the federation to intervene in the internal affairs of Gilgit-Baltistan, it would not hesitate for the federal government to intervene. if the current G-B government does not stop creating a further mess by usurping public funds.

He said the G-B government is filling its pocket with money from all sources including the zakat, and flood funds.

We will ask the Federal Minister of Kashmir Affairs and Prime Minister’s Inspection Team to visit Jaglot Guru and see the wastage of money and corruption made in the name of protective measures against floods, said former chief minister G-B.

He further said that despite the country’s bad situation, the Prime Minister of Pakistan has given Rs. 3 billion to Gilgit-Baltistan but Buzdar 2 and the team have started to put this money into their pockets.

Today Imrandu Buzdar 2 is in Gilgit-Baltistan. When the Prime Minister of Pakistan Shahbaz Sharif visited the flood-affected area of Guru and Ghizer, he did not meet the Prime Minister on orders from Imran Khan and ran away to Tangir. Even today, the whole cabinet is sitting in Zaman Park leaving the people of G-B at the mercy of all sorts of problems.

He said Khalid Khurshid and his team are governing with a mindset of corruption. They have taken the authority to impose an emergency from Deputy Commissioner to the cabinet, although the authority to impose an emergency in the whole of Pakistan rests with the Deputy Commissioner.

Chief Secretary G-B is least bothered about the substandard work in Guru and elsewhere. He is only interested in education. Why should he not visit Jaglot Guru and check out the work done here?

He demanded a halt to the ongoing work until a highly technical team inspects the quality of work and gives go ahead.

Hafiz Hafeezur Rahman also requested the DG Anti-Corruption to visit Jaglot Guru and review the ongoing work here to see if Rs.12 billion has been spent on this work or not.
