Delay in the appointment of judges in top courts has led to a judicial crisis in GB, Advocate Muhammad Nafees

Nafees Advocate, vice president High Court Bar Association, GB

Gilgit (PR): In a press release issued to the media, the vice president of High Court Bar Association GB has said Gilgit-Baltistan is faced with a judicial crisis due to a delay in the appointment of judges and members in the Supreme Appellate Court, High Court, and Services Tribunal GB.

The crisis has led to delays in the dispensation of justice in the region. Because a huge number of under-trial cases are pending without any hope of their disposal any sooner.

According to advocate Nafees, the GB government is least concerned with addressing basic issues including the skyrocketing inflation in the region. For the GB government, securing more and more perks and privileges is equivalent to national interests.

He has further stated that the deteriorating economic conditions in the region have compelled youth and the poor to commit suicide.  Furthermore, the successive government brought into being through a fake process had aggravated public issues rather than addressing them.

Advocate Nafees has demanded the government to use non-development funds on well being of people rather than investing them in matters with unnecessary vigilance of local people.
