Core committee on lay health workers holds meeting in Gilgit city in

Gilgit (Correspondent): An important meeting of Core Committee on issues of Lady Health Workers Gilgit-Baltistan was held today in a private hotel in Gilgit city.

The meeting was presided over by the Chairman of the Core Committee Riazuddin.

The participants thanked political, social and religious personalities for their support shown to lady health workers in their struggle for the rights.

Itt was decided in the meeting that while negotiating with the government, the final date for redressal of LHW issues would not go beyong7 Feb 20.

Core committee expressed it’s reservation over the slow pace of the government to address issues of lady health workers and declared it worrying.

The participants of the meeting decided not to visit China until the lady health workers are given their joining. It was decided to make every possible effort and sacrifice to get their rights.

The Core Committee emphasized on mutual agreement and unity at the level of Gilgit-Baltistan.

The participants thanked president of Imamia Council Gilgit-Baltistan and the officials of Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat and urged them to play their role on the issues of lady health workers.

In the meeting, the government and the authorities were demanded to take notice of the abuses of lady health workers and fulfill their long-standing demand for joining.

In the end, it was unanimously decided that if the government showed the same inactivity, they would be forced to stage a sit-in along with their children.
