CM G-B Khalid Khurshid urges opposition to follow the ‘give respect, take respect’ rule

Chief Minister Gilgit-Baltistan addressing G-B Assembly session

Gilgit (correspondent): While addressing the G-B Assembly session on Tuesday, the chief minister G-B Khalid Khurshid stressed the opposition to abide by the rule ‘respect and take respect’.

He said all assembly members have been elected for the assembly and deserve respect. Difference of opinion and association with a particular party should not be a reason for the unnecessary fight within and outside the assembly.

Addressing the opposition leader, the Chief Minister said his team is taking care of your honor. You should not force us to behave the way we do not want.

The Chief Minister said postings and transfers are the prerogative of the government. However, if the opposition leader or any other assembly member thinks there is a problem somewhere, he/she should talk to me or our ministers. Because we are always ready to listen and address any genuine issue lying there, said the CM.

He said the G-B government is taking all possible to provide modern medical facilities to the people of G-B. Likewise, to overcome the shortage of consultant doctors in the region, the government is taking the services of doctors from the International Hospital.

He further said that his government is making legislation to increase the retirement age of consultant doctors to 65 years in G-B. Similarly, we are taking measures to address the shortage of doctors and nurses in Gilgit-Baltistan, he further added.
