Yasin (PR): In an important meeting organized under the banner of Yasin Youth Forum, youth of Sub-division Yasin in Ghizer district of Gilgit-Baltistan condemned the alleged disrespectful behavior of the Assistant Commissioner Yasin towards a local young leader Shah Rahim.
Attended by former candidate GBLA Karim Shah Advocate, former candidate GBLA Sher Nadir Shahi, Aslam Inqilabi, Advocate Karimullah and others, the meeting expressed its anger not only over the disrespectful treatment of Shah Rahim but also over the silence kept by the elected representatives of the sub-division on the incident.
Ghulam Mohammad, Mohammad Ayub Shah, and former member Jahanzeb, who have been elected by the people of Yasin, were criticized for their failure to address and condemn the incident. The participants said the silence of elected representatives in the face of such behavior demonstrated by a public servant was unacceptable.
The meeting demanded that Assistant Commissioner Yasin publicly apologize for his behavior or face a protest campaign until his transfer from the sub-division.
They also demanded the Chief Secretary Gilgit-Baltistan, Deputy Commissioner Ghizer, the elected representatives of the sub-division to transfer the Assistant Commissioner Yasin before a full-fledged movement starts in the sub-division.
