Police Team constituted to arrest former PTI Chief Minister of Gilgit-Baltistan Khalid Khursheed

Gilgit (Police sources): According to police sources, First Investigation Report (FIR) has been registered against former Chief Minister and President Tehreek-e-Insaf Gilgit-Baltistan Khalid Khurshid in City Police Station Gilgit on Wednesday.

According to the sources, a police team has been constituted which has left for Astore to arrest the former Chief Minister of Gilgit-Baltistan.

The FIR has been registered against Khalid Khursheed on the request of Rashid Umar Advocate.  

Section 420 has also been added in the case against former chief minister for committing forgery in his educational degree.

It is pertinent to note that numerous legal cases have been filed against ex-Chief Minister Khalid Khurshid in other cities as well. Punjab police are actively seeking him on allegations of violation of law during his presence at Zaman Park in a show of support for Imran Khan.

As the news of registration of FIR against Khalid Khursheed broke out, the local leaders of Tehreek-e-Insaf criticized G-B police’s plan to arrest the former chief minister as a revenge action by the government.

It is also pertinent to note the police action comes after the workers of Tehreek-e-Insaaf demonstrated its political power power in Gilgit city and district headquarters across G-B while celebrating the independence Day of Pakistan.
