Operational enhancement emphasized at Karakoram Cooperative Bank Limited in Gilgit-Baltistan

Manager KCBLA is presenting souvenirs to the minister and secretary Excise and Taxation Gilgit-Baltistan

Gilgit (PR): Minister Excise, Taxation and cooperatives Societies Haji Rahmat Khaliq asked General Manager Karakoram Cooperative Bank Limited (KCBL) to introduce Islamic banking system.

Haji Rahmat Khaliq proposed introduction of Islamic banking system while he was visiting KCBL along with the Secretary Excise, Taxation and cooperative societies Momin Jan on Tuesday.

Both the minister and secretary of Excise and Taxation were welcomed and briefed about the performance of KCBLA by the General Manager of KCBL Syed Ghulam Muhammad.

Registrar of Cooperative Societies GB Muhammad Ali, Deputy Registrar Muhammad Amin, Circle Registrar Momin Shah, Legal Advisor Imran Ali, and other officials of Cooperative Bank Limited were also present on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, Minister Rahmat Khaliq emphasized the appointment of capable and merit-based staff in all branches of the bank to improve efficiency. He also stressed the need to introduce Islamic banking practices within the bank.

While talking to GM Cooperative Bank Limited, the Secretary Excise and Taxation Momen Jan suggested refining the systems of checks, balances, and audits to improve the institution’s performance.

Both Secretary Momin Jan and Minister Rahmat Khaliq also expressed their support the bank in improving its perfomance.

GM Syed Ghulam Muhammad extended gratitude to Minister Rahmat Khaliq and Secretary Momin Jan for their visit to KCBL and pledging support.
