Years old MPA hostel project again included in PC-1 triggering fears of loss worth billions of rupees

Gilgit (C.R Akbar Shah): A loss of billions of rupees are feared to be made to the national exchequer again. The once abandoned MPA Hostel Gilgit Scheme aimed at providing accommodation facilities to the members of the Gilgit-Baltistan assembly is again included in PC-1.

According to details, billions of rupees have been invested in the construction of the MPA Hostel Gilgit. However, the project was not completed despite the passage of so many years.

According to the sources, the hostel project was got approved in 2016 and 40% work of the construction was also completed. However, the scheme was later deleted from PC-1.

The investigative agencies should investigate the inclusion of this project again into PC-1 to save the national exchequer from any further loss.

It is also pertinent to bring people responsible for seven years of delay in the project despite investing millions of rupees in the project.
