Gilgit (PR): WAPDA employees in Sadpara Baltistan protested by closing power houses over non-payment of salaries and allowances on Tuesday.
Taking notice of the protest, the divisional and district administration Skardu took immediate notice and contacted the water and power authorities.
On directions of the Commissioner Baltistan division Shuja Alam and deputy Commissioner Skardu Captain (retd) Shehryar Shirazi, assistant commissioner Skardu Ibrahim Shah successfully negotiated with the employees.
While talking to the protesting employees, AC Skardu said the commissioner Baltistan Division has directed the finance department to release the salaries of employees.
Referring to assurances of the finance department G-B, AC Skardu said the salaries of the employees will be released by tomorrow.
On assurances of the assistant Commissioner Skardu, the protesting employees ended their protests and dispersed peacefully.
