Gilgit (PR): Under the chairmanship of Interior Secretary Gilgit-Baltistan Rana Muhammad Salim Afzal, a high-level meeting was held regarding the current security situation and maintenance of peace and protection of Chinese engineers in Pakistan.
The participants of the meeting were briefed about the law-and-order situation of Gilgit-Baltistan by the senior civil and armed forces officers.
Speaking on the occasion, the Secretary of Interior Gilgit-Baltistan said the development of Gilgit-Baltistan depends on peace and tranquility. Similarly, the construction of the Diamer Bhasha and Dasu dams along with China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) transform the country economically.
He said anti-Pakistan elements are trying to disturb the peaceful environment in Gilgit-Baltistan to derail the country economically. However, all resources will be utilized to provide full-proof security to Chinese engineers and workers of the Bhasha Diamar Dam and other mega projects in Gilgit-Baltistan.
He further said that the enemy does not like sectarian harmony in Gilgit-Baltistan. However, the people of Gilgit-Baltistan are aware of the evil designs of enemy forces. People are not oblivion of the external conspiracies. As always, people working with the government foil the nefarious mechanization of these evil elements.
Secretary Home issued instructions to the officers of the civil and armed security agencies to make zero compromise on the security of the Chinese citizens.
Meanwhile, Provincial Interior Secretary chaired an important meeting regarding emergency measures on the instructions of Chief Minister Gilgit-Baltistan Khalid Khurshid.
In the meeting, instructions were also issued to the divisional and district administrations to take immediate concrete steps to immediately restore the communication roads due to rains and landslides in the region and to solve the problems faced by the people.
