Promotion of more than 24 public sector general nurses pending for more than a year in Gilgit-Baltistan

Gilgit (Special report): The cases of 24 general nurses awaiting promotion to the next scale in the health department have been pending in the DG Health office for the past one year despite urgent remarks given by the health secretary.

According to the details, 24 General Nurses were appointed during 2016 and 2017 in Gilgit-Baltistan Health Department. Currently, they are giving their services in different districts with the same status.

In May last year, these general nurses had jointly submitted a request to Secretary Health Haji Sanaullah Khan to promote them to the next scales under the service rules.

The health secretary had sent an urgent letter to the director general of the health department to promote them to the next grade as per service rules. Despite the remarks of health secretary, no action was taken and the case has been put on adjournment.

General nurses awaiting promotion to the next grades include Mrs. Gulbar, Abid Hussain, Munira, Saima Naz, Dilbar Hussain, Shabnam Khalid, Rafia Begum, Ali Akbar, Selimur Rehman, Neelam, Kausar Kareem, Selma, Parveen, Zareen, Khalida, Zakir Hussain, Muneeb Alam , Zaidullah, Rozeena, Saat Bibi, Shabana, Gulshan Ara, Irshad Amin and Adiba.
