Gilgit (Monitoring desk): In what is being hailed as a historic milestone for the region, Gilgit Baltistan is all set to welcome its first international flight on August 14 this year.
This momentous development promises to usher in a new era of prosperity and growth in the tourism sector, while also opening doors for international collaborations in the area.

The achievement comes as a result of the combined efforts of Mr. Khakan Murtaza, DG Civil Aviation Authority, Mr. Syed Muhammad Taha, MD & CEO of PSO, and the Federal Government.
The Chief Secretary of Gilgit-Baltistan has expressed gratitude to all those involved, recognizing the significance of this breakthrough in shaping the region’s future.
The new international flight connections are expected to boost tourism, foster economic growth, and pave the way for a brighter and more prosperous Gilgit-Baltistan.
