Gilgit (Bureau Chief): Like the rest of the country, Jumat ul wida was celebrated in Gilgit-Baltistan as the Day of Al-Quds to express solidarity with the oppressed Palestinian people and for their freedom from the Zionist occupation.
After Friday prayers, al-Quds protest rallies were organized across Gilgit-Baltistan including Gilgit City, Danyor, Jutal, Nomal, Jalalabad, Nagar, Hunza, Astore, and Skardu. People participated in the rallies to show solidarity with the oppressed Palestinian and Kashmiri brethren in their fight against the Zionist and Indian states.
Organized by the Central Anjuman Imamiya Gilgit-Baltistan, the main rally was taken from the Central Imamia Jama Masjid under the leadership of Quaid Millat Jafaria Gilgit-Baltistan Agha Syed Rahat Hussain Al-Hussaini after the Friday prayers. The rallies culminated at Khazana Road as they converged into gathering through fixed routes.
Addressing the gathering, the religious leaders and speakers strongly condemned the atrocities of the Zionist state of Israel and India on Palestinians and Kashmiris respectively. They also condemned America for being an accomplice in these oppressions on Muslims the world over.
In the end, a resolution was unanimously passed condemning the inhumane atrocities inflicted on the oppressed Palestinian Muslims by the Zionist state of Israel.
The resolution reiterated that support for the oppressed Palestinians will continue unabated until the liberation of Al-Quds and the destruction of the illegitimate Zionist state.
Al-Quds rally in Astore was organized under the leadership was also participated by a large number of people. The participants of the rally condemned Israeli atrocities on Palestinians.
Improvement in Saudi-Iran relations is a significant step for the promotion of unity among Muslims of the world and their development, said the speakers.
