Gilgit (C.R Akbar Shah): Chief Minister Inspection Team (CMIT G-B) has completed its inquiry on complaints of corruption in the ‘One Mega Watt Hydel Power Project in Botogah, Chilas’.
According to the inquiry report, gross financial irregularities have been found in the project.
The inquiry report has recommended legal action against all the officers involved in the irregularities as per law.
Commenting on the findings of the inquiry committee, the chief secretary G-B vowed to take strict action against public servants involved in financial malpractices and administrative incompetence as per the ‘Government Servants Efficiency and Discipline Rules (E&D) rules to make them a lesson for others in future.
Chief Secretary G-B also reiterated his commitment to reactivate and complete pending schemes at the earliest. Similarly unnecessary delays in this completion of the projects would not be tolerated, further added the chief secretary.
It is pertinent to note that CMIT had started an investigation after a local person approached Water and Power Department demanding the replacement of the water channel of the power project with pipelines in February.
