Gilgit (Staff reporter): In a notification issued on Monday, Home Department Gilgit-Baltistan (G-B) has imposed a ban on protests and all types of agitation on KKH and inter-districts roads under section 144 for three months.
According to the notification, the current summer season in G-B is likely to witness a huge influx of local and foreign tourists mainly via KKH being the only major artery connecting G-B with the rest parts of the country.
Similarly, tourists move to various districts during their stay in G-B. However, unnecessary protests, agitations, and sit-ins on this vital means of communication are likely to cause serious uneasiness and discomfort for the tourists visiting Gilgit-Baltistan.
According to the notification, given the above facts, tourists visiting Gilgit-Baltistan must be provided with safe passages during their movements from other parts of the country to GB during their movements within Gilgit-Baltistan.
This welcoming approach towards foreign and domestic tourists will help showcase the very positive face of Gilgit-Baltistan.
