Cardiology Hospital Gilgit Health Department Refutes Inactivity Claims

Gilgit (PR): The Health Department’s spokesperson for Gilgit-Baltistan has strongly refuted the reports on social media about the inactivity of the Cardiology Hospital Gilgit.  

According to a statement issued to the media, after its inauguration in by the Caretaker Prime Minister of Pakistan Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar on Wednesday, the OPD of the hospital is operational, and specialist doctors and paramedical staff are diligently providing cardiac patient care on daily basis.

According to the statement, a 50-bed, state-of-the-art cardiology hospital, offering OPD services is open to the public in the first phase. Echocardiography, ETT, angiography and angioplasty facilities will be provided soon.

As per the statement, the OPD of Cardiac Hospital Gilgit was open for patients on Saturday. Two cardiologists including MS and three medical officers were present on their respective duties along with paramedical staff at the hospital.

The statement further said emergency services will not be available to patients until the hospital is fully operational. Procurement of modern equipment for Cardiology Hospital is in tendering stage.
