G-B Should be Given Representation in Parliament and NFC Award, Says Interim Information Minister

Gilgit (PR): While talking to media perons in Gilgit, the Interim Minister for Information Murtaza Solangi said the people of Gilgit-Baltistan freed this region from Dogra Raj and joined Pakistan unconditionally.

The interim Minister Information said the people of Gilgit-Baltistan should be given rights through constitutional amendments until the resolution of Issue of Kashmir. They Should have representation in the parliament and NFC Award, he emphasized.

He further said that he is aware of the problems of Gilgit-Baltistan and has raised his voice in the past to give constitutional rights to the people here.

Federal Minister for Information Murtaza Solangi said the Prime Minister of Pakistan Anwarul Haq Kakar issued orders to release Rs. 4 billion to address wheat subsidy issue after discussed the financial problems faced by Gilgit Baltistan government.

He said the PM was briefed on the overall situation of law and order, regional issues, and development plans by the GB government. He said former Chief Ministers of Gilgit-Baltistan and other political leaders also met Caretaker Prime Minister of Pakistan, in which the overall regional problems discussed in detail.

The Interim Federal Minister Information said the Caretaker federal government will take steps on every priority basis to solve the problems of Gilgit-Baltistan as it is deeply interested in the development of the region and will leave no stone unturned to ensure peace and order in the region.

He said problems of the journalistic fraternity of Gilgit-Baltistan will be solved on priority basis and they will be provided with equal rights and privileges as par the journalists of other regions of the country.

He said the local Journalists of Gilgit-Baltistan are playing an important role in bringing the problems of people to the houses of power even in adverse conditions and highlighting the positive image of the region.

He further said that a delegation of journalists has been invited to Islamabad for immediate solutions to their problems. Concrete measures will be taken for to address issues faced by local journalists.
