Gilgit: In its Sunday session, G-B Legislative Assembly unanimously passed G-B Commission on Status of Women Bill 2022 and the Senior Citizens Welfare Bill 2022. Both bills were presented before the house for debate by the advisor to Chief Minister G-B on Law Syed Suhail Abbas.
During the session, Advisor to CM on food Shamsul Haq Lone also presented ‘Gilgit-Baltistan Food Bill 2022’ for legislation. The bill was handed over to the select committee for review before it is presented for debate.
During the session, while responding to a question, Minister for Local Bodies Abdul Hameed said the timely release of funds is important to complete projects at the local level. Otherwise, with an end to the fiscal year, the fund would be lapsed leaving all projects incomplete.
On a question related to the recruitment of teachers on the waiting list, parliamentary secretary Suraya Zaman said the candidates on the waiting list would be inducted only if anyone from the newly recruited employees resigns.
Addressing the session, opposition leader Amjad advocate presented a resolution demanding a provision of Rs. 2000 per month to special persons. The resolution was handed over to the select committee for review.
Speaking in the session, member GBLA from Yasin Ghulam Muhammad presented a resolution demanding regularization of the provisional position of Chief judge of the Supreme Appellate Court. The resolution was unanimously passed.
