First digital census in Gilgit to commence in March

First digital census in Gilgit district to commence from first March 2023

Gilgit (Ibex report): The first digital census in Gilgit district will commence from March 1, 2023. This was stated by deputy commissioner Gilgit while chairing a meeting in connection with the census.

According to deputy commissioner Gilgit, all preparations including the training of census staff have been made for smooth execution of the census in the district.

The district administration has created 222 census blocks and 19 census circles across the district. Each block consists of about 250 households. Total 49 census staff have been appointed in the district who will complete census of one block in 15 days whereas the entire census will be completed in a period of one month.

Another important feature of the census process is the option of self-enumeration. According to this option, households would be able to feed details of their families through online census portal.

Instructions have been issued to super intendent of police, assistant commissioners of all subdivisions and deputy director education Gilgit to ensure deployment of security personnel and complete preparations in of designated teachers for the census.

The district administration Gilgit has also appealed to the people of the district to cooperate in smooth conducting of the first digital census.
