Gilgit (PR): Education Minister Gilgit-Baltistan Ghulam Shehzad Agha met Chairman of the Federal Board of Secondary Education (FBSE) Qaiser Alam in Islamabad on Monday.
Zameer Abbas, the Secretary of School Education for Gilgit-Baltistan, was also present in the meeting.
During the meeting, a detailed discussion took place regarding the ongoing educational projects launched under auspices of the FBSE in Gilgit-Baltistan. During the discussion, it was decided to increase the number of scholarships for students from Gilgit-Baltistan on special recommendation of Ghulam Shehzad Agha.
The Chairman FBSE also assured to assist in organizing training workshops, counseling sessions and other training opportunities in collaboration with Professional Development Center North (PDCN) to enhance the profession capacity of teachers in Gilgit-Baltistan.
FBSE chairman also agreed to provide full support in the practical and academic affairs of the Grade 5 and 8 students enrolled in schools across G-B. He also expressed its determination to provide full support in conducting practical classes for the students of Class IX.
Chairman FBSE also expressed eagerness to utilize all resources for the establishment of a fully functional office of Federal Board in Gilgit and appoint responsible staff.
Furthermore, he affirmed his will to maintaining the ongoing technical and financial assistance from his institution, aimed at enhancing the educational standards in Gilgit-Baltistan in the future too.
