CM G-B lays foundation stone of Nomal and Faizabad Greater Supply Scheme

Gilgit (PR): Gilgit-Baltistan Chief Minister Khalid Khurshid laid the foundation stone of Numal and Faizabad Greater Water Supply Scheme worth Rs. 0.27 billion on Friday.

Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Gilgit-Baltistan Khalid Khurshid said that this project was included in the annual development program on the long-standing demand of the people of Nomal and Faizabad.

He said with the completion of this project, the problem faced by the people of Nomal and Faizabad regarding clean drinking water will be solved on a permanent basis.

The Chief Minister also directed the concerned department to install a modern water treatment plant as part of the project.

Chief Minister Gilgit-Baltistan Khalid Khurshid along with the provincial ministers also laid the foundation stone of Nomal 10-bed hospital of Rs.6 crore.

The Chief Minister Gilgit-Baltistan Khalid Khurshid said that the hospital project is part of ADP as per the demand of the people to provide better medical facilities.

He directed the concerned departments to construct the water supply scheme and the hospital within a short period of one year.

Khalid Khursheed also ordered the appointment of LMOs on the demand of the people.

He also gave direction to seek a report regarding the establishment of rescue 1122 unit in Nomal.

While talking to the village notables, the Chief Minister said that his government is facing difficulties due to the cut in the development budget. Next year will serve the people in a better way and will start more projects of public interest.

CM G-B observed that land reforms were a long-standing demand of the people of Gilgit-Baltistan, which would solve the land problem on a permanent basis.
