Investigation into alleged manipulation in the Botogah power project kicks off

Gilgit (C.R. Akbar Shah): Chief Minister Inspection Team starts investigation the alleged manipulation and scam in under construction power project in Botogah in Diamir district.

 According to the sources, investigation kicked off after a local person approached water and power department Diamir to replace the water channel of the power project with pipelines. The complainant maintains the water channel is a danger to the local population.

According to sources privy to the power project, work on the water channel started in 2007 which has been completed with a cost of Rs. 0.8 billion. It is suspected that the complainant might be acting on behalf of the contractor and relevant public department.

The matter has now been sent to the Chief Minister’s Inspection Team, which has started an investigation in this regard.

It is pertinent to note that the water channel has been completed with a cost of billions of rupees. Now, if a pipeline is laid instead of the entire water channel, its costs will increase many times.
