Thanks to the efforts of the current pro-education Chief Secretary Gilgit-Baltistan Mohyuddin Ahamd Wani and the Education Department G-B, for the first time around 500 posts of TGT BS-16 to 17,18 and BS-19 were collectively advertised.
The recruitment process for the advertised posts was expected to follow the direct assessment approach through tests and interviews as established by the FPSC, scheduled to be held in the final week of August 2023.
However, a group of ten female teachers of BPS-18 have managed to get a stay order to halt the scheduled tests.
They have based their claim on backdated promotions thus moving the court to act in their favor.
The move is tantamount to the killing merit-based recruitment in the region as well as throwing water on the personal efforts of the Chief Secretary.
Considering this, the Chief Court of Gilgit-Baltistan is requested to lift the stay or limit it till the result of the scheduled tests is out.
It is appealed to Chief Secretary G-B to kindly issue an immediate order to the Legal Adviser of the Education Department to file a petition in the court for withdrawal of the stay order and ensure the conduct of the FPSC test in the last week of this August. Otherwise, the test may be delayed by one year.
Interestingly, the petitioners have sought stay on only 17 posts of BPS18, but the Hon’ble Chief Court has gone ahead and suspended the entire recruitment advertisement.
In this way, the test is expected to be negatively affected on nearly 500 posts.
