Amir JI AJK Dr. Khalid Mahmood demands the arrest of elements behind the killing of young religious scholars in G-B

A delegation from Gilgit-Baltistan meets Amir Jamat Islami AJK Dr. Khalid Mehmood Khan in Islamabad

Islamabad (PR): Talking to a delegation from Gilgit-Baltistan in Islamabad, Amir Jamat Islami Azad Kashmir Dr. Khalid Mahmood Khan said the martyrdom of two young scholars in Gilgit after abduction is condemnable.  

He said Jamat Islami will soon announce a protest plan to force the government to bring the culprits to justice if it fails to arrest the culprits and punish them in time.

While talking to the delegation, he said Jamaat-e-Islami has been struggling for the constitutional and political rights of the people of Gilgit-Baltistan since day one. The development in Gilgit-Baltistan has practically stopped. The government should ensure the implementation of the projects announced in the budget.

He also demanded of the government to increase financial resources for G-B which is a sensitive region so that the process of construction and development of Gilgit-Baltistan can begin.

 Criticizing the successive governments in G-B, he said that those who claim to build and develop in Gilgit-Baltistan practically could not take any action. Inflation, unemployment, and corruption are on the rise.  Thus, the government should announce a package to provide dignified employment to the unemployed youth.

He also demanded the government to provide the royalty of dams in Gilgit-Baltistan to the people there and appoint local people in the jobs.

Those part of the delegation from G-B includes the central deputy Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami Mushtaq Advocate, Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami Gilgit-Baltistan Maulana Abdul Sami, secretary general Nizamuddin, Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami District Gilgit Tanveer Hydari.
