Gilgit (PR): The new Deputy Commissioner of Gilgit district, Amir Azam, has said that all resources will be brought into use to empower the numberdars.
He said this during a meeting with a delegation of numberdaran who came to congratulate him on his posting as new deputy commissioner Gilgit district.
During the meeting, DC Gilgit expressed the hope that the numbardaran will identify the problems in the area and cooperate fully with the administration to solve the problems. Numberdaran have been playing a commendable role in the establishment of peace in the area, further said DC Gilgit.
During the meeting, Numberdaran congratulated him for taking charge of deputy commissioner Gilgit.
They said the numbardaran have been making efforts day and night to maintain peace and tranquility in the area.
They said they have stood with the people of their respective areas during Muharram by extending full cooperation was to the security forces.
He assured the DC Gilgit to render their services for the maintenance of peace in the region whenever the district administration need it.
Numberdaran informed DC Gilgit about their problems the face on which the DC Gilgit assured to resolve the problems on priority basis. My office doors are always open for numbers, further assured the DC Gilgit.
It is pertinent to note that a numberdar is the headman of a village who is appointed by the deputy commissioner of the respective district.
