NSF G-B and NWF GB Webinar Analyzes the Historical Significance of November 1st in Gilgit-Baltistan

National Workers Front Gilgit Blatitan holds webinar on November 1

Karachi (Didar Ali): On November 1st, 2023, the National Students Federation Gilgit-Baltistan (NSFGB) and the National Workers Front Gilgit-Baltistan (NWFGB) jointly organized a thought-provoking webinar on the historical significance of November 1st and its implications for Gilgit-Baltistan.

Sultan Madad, a distinguished progressive historian and political analyst, was invited as the guest speaker. The webinar drew in an audience of more than 50 young people from across Gilgit-Baltistan.

Moderated by Didar Ali, General Secretary of NSFGB Sindh Zone, The session extended for a duration of three hours.

Comrade Sultan Madad shed light on the significance of November 1, 1947, emphasizing it was not merely a local revolt but rather a crucial point in the larger geopolitical puzzle known as the “Great Game.”

During his discussion, he provided a critical analysis of Major Brown, often celebrated as a hero, challenging this perception and characterizing him as a villain in the context of these historical events.

Comrade Sultan Madad highlighted the strategic importance of Gilgit-Baltistan, underscoring that the territorial dispute between Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir was not an accident but result of a calculated plan.

He elucidated the notion that the events of November 1, 1947, were a meticulously orchestrated occurrence, offering a historical perspective on the Karachi Agreement, which played a pivotal role in shaping the region’s destiny.

The webinar concluded with an engaging question-and-answer session, allowing participants to gain deeper insights and interact with the esteemed speaker, Comrade Sultan Madad.

In his closing remarks, Comrade Sultan Madad stressed the urgency of collaborative efforts by progressive organizations in educating the youth and fostering political awareness. Without such concerted action, the region may continue to struggle for its identity, warned Sultan Madad.
