Gilgit (PR): Chaired by the Chief Minister and the Force Commander Gilgit-Baltistan, an Apex Committee session was convened at FCNA Gilgit. The meeting saw the attendance of relevant authorities, reviewing the prevailing law and order situation in Gilgit Baltistan.
During the meeting, a unanimous decision was made to undertake necessary actions to ensure the safety of travelers on the Karakoram Highway (KKH). The committee took a firm decision to prohibit any form of protest on KKH. Those playing with the peace of G-B would be dealt with iron hand, reiterated the committee.
During the meeting, it was decided that the members of the Parliamentary Committee on Peace would visit both Skardu and Diamer. They would engage with various stakeholders to formulate recommendations to foster lasting peace considering the consultations with stakeholder.
In the meeting, it was decided that strict legal action would be taken under the Cybercrime Act against those who spread incitement and hateful content on social media.
The meeting also appreciated the government and the ‘parliamentary committee on Peace’ for their endeavors in reinstating a state of peace and order.
