Gilgit (Representative): Floods in Dodishal Valley of Diamir district in Gilgit-Baltistan destroyed residential houses, standing crops, and linking roads causing a severe shortage of drinking water and food.

According to the reports, the valley saw a massive flood on Friday engulfing a major part of it in a way the local people consider unprecedented.

The flood destroyed crops and roads along with residential houses.

According to the officials of the Dodishal Youth Organization and the Dodishal Development Committee, a flood of this scale did not happen before.

The people of Dodishal Valley have demanded from the administration to take measures to provide clean drinking water, restore roads and deliver food items to the people.

It is pertinent to note that due to the flood thousands of people are currently forced to live under the open sky waiting for help from the government.
